The exercise was just as its title is, relaxing, what was nice to me is that as he spoke and told me what to do I was actually feeling the sensations he was talking about. The music was almost like a soundtrack to the exercise, it seemed to take form in the exercise as you moved and breathed in and out. I have never done meditation before and to me this is a great way to start to learn by having someone tell you what to do as you do it.
So this is your first experience! Keep using this guided visualization; you will just improve with practice. This exercise can be as effective as aerobics or muscle and bone strengthening exercises for the body. This is, also, my first attempt at creating a blog. I think I'm loving it! I'll stay tuned for your progress updates.
ReplyDeleteIt was my first meditation experience as well. I look forward to giving it a try again. I agree that having someone talk you through it is a great way to start. When I hear the word meditation, I think about sitting cross legged, thumbs and index fingers in a circle resting near your knees, and repeating 'om'. :) After listening to this, I think that stereotype might change in my mind.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed meditation for the first time. Meditation has different effects on different people. Meditation tends to make me sleepy which is a good thing because I usually do not sleep much...
Hello, Keith. I am so glad that you enjoyed the relaxation exercise. Everyone needs to find some sort of relaxation that works for them. I myself did not like it and I wasn't really in the mood for it. I was sort of grossed out by the content of it. But I did find the music wonderful and his voice soothing in a way.
ReplyDeleteH Keith.. I really enjoyed the relaxation exercise.. I'm going to aim to start my day with meditation now, in addition to prayer which I currently do.. I felt so happy and warm just listening to the music, and to his voice.
